Old fashioned video art by eddie d, the Dutch master of sampled found footage with a fascination for the musical capacities of re-used and appropriated television and film material. His 'Masterplan', is a work that focuses on overlapping layers of sounds and rhythm. In a 2x2 grid, various scenes from a 1980s Bollywood film are juxtaposed, sampled and looped. The original movie was awkwardly dubbed into English – an interesting 'fake' layer, rather than the 'real' sounds that eddie d usually employs. A ringing telephone in an office, a crowd of festively dressed people clapping hands, macho men snapping fingers are source material for a rhythmic composition in image and sound.
